Dad's School Leaving Certificate

Left: The letter Dad was given six months after he left Boulton Road Council School in December 1910.

The letter, dated 26 July 1911, reads:

This is to certify that
Frank Leonard Ball was
a scholar in this school
until last Xmas when
he left to attend the Day
Classes at the Handsworth
Art School.
He is a boy of splendid
disposition and has had a
good training at home.
He is specially good in
drawing including light & shade,
design and painting.
I feel sure he will give every satisfaction.
